Carbon-neutral Forster Group

Based on its TN-CC 020 standard, TÜV NORD Austria audited the entire Forster Group and all its premises. The aim of the endeavour was to establish a complete CO2 footprint, i.e. verifying all greenhouse gas emissions of Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3. The certificate confirms our successful completion of this process.

The Forster Group has taken a large number of measures in order to continuously reduce its CO2 emissions. The residual emissions are compensated by us through our support for recognised climate protection projects. This funding contributes to the reduction of CO2 and other greenhouse gases worldwide and in this way helps protect our climate.

Prevent – Reduce – Compensate

A key step towards carbon neutrality has been – and will continue to be – to cut down on and as much as possible avoid CO₂ emissions. Some examples implemented so far:

• Green electricity: Forster locations in Austria are supplied entirely with electricity from renewable sources.
• Innovative energy concept: at its St. Peter/Au location, Forster will cease using natural gas. By investing in an innovative energy concept and a biomass heating plant, the process heat required year-round for powder-coating and for heating the facility will be obtained by ecologically produced energy.
• Energy savings: numerous measures such as LED lighting or heat recovery have helped to substantially reduce energy consumption.
• Efficient production: innovative production processes and state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment cut down on energy consumption on an ongoing basis.

With such steps our Group is making a significant contribution to a future that is worth living for.
